This canteen-style place is a bit short on charm, but it's great for fill-you-up, cheap-as-chips food. Crispy cod, fried salmon, steaks, pork chops and fish skewers are all served with a generous helping of mash and veg and there's always a dish of the day on offer.

In an attractive clapboard building, this place has two settings: a salty downstairs pub and an upstairs restaurant that turns out some decent fish dishes, plus hearty mains like reindeer fillet and steaks. Standards are pubby rather than sophisticated, but they'll fill you up and the views are pleasant.
